The Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) estimates that approximately 3500 forklift accidents occur annually, of which 85 are fatal to employees. 42% of fatal accidents occurred either due to overloading the machine with the cargo or rolling it due to incorrect handling techniques. Only 10% of these fatal accidents happened due to the fact that the forklifts passed the victims.
