Discover the differences between the main types of forklifts

Did you know that there are several different types of forklifts? Most likely not, because the name "forklift" is used regardless of the type of forklift. It's just like cars. Even though we all call them "cars" generically, they are of several types: sedan, break, cabriolet and so on. In today's article, we will present four different types of forklifts and some features about each.

Front forklift truck

This is the traditional model of forklift that everyone knows. It is also known as a "counterweight forklift" because it has a counterweight in the rear to be always in balance and in safety. Forks are most often joined by a mast that helps lift the load off the ground. These types of forklifts can work on electricity, diesel or gas and can usually be found in shops, yards and warehouses.

Front forklift and three wheels

This type of forklift is the same as the forklift with front forks, the only difference is that instead of four wheels it has three. On the back, it has a single wheel centrally mounted. This is why the main advantage of this type of forklift is that it offers greater maneuverability and is very useful in warehouses and shops that have narrow color or where space is limited.

Manual forklift

Manually operated forklifts are very similar to pallet trucks, the only difference being that the forklifts are powered by an electric motor. This allows for easy lifting and transporting from one place to another.

Special forklift

We find them quite rarely in stores and in warehouses. These forklifts differ greatly from one another, but they have one in common that they have a much larger mast connected to the lift arm which means they have a greater range of coverage and more power.
